The Metzo transmitter is ready built and ready to run...at an affordable price...with the performance and features of units costing many times the price...!>

The Metzo employs the same crystal controlled frequency synthesizer as the Gizmo for accurate tuning and drift free frequency stability.  The synthesizer tunes the entire AM broadcast band (500 - 1800 kHz)>

The Metzo provides the full 100 mill-watts, as allowed for FCC Part 15 operation without a license.>

The Metzo employs an updated RF output and modulator stages based on the Gizmo, with new features that results in very low distortion modulation right up 100%, and an almost indestructible output stage, with the ability to increase the output power beyond 100mw if and when the FCC rules permit.>

The Metzo has a totally new active two channel mixer for either Stereo to Mono or twin channel Mono audio sources. Followed by a Audio equalizer capable of plus or minus 14db boost/cut to both treble and bass frequencies.>

The Metzo has a totally new ATU (Antenna Tuning Unit) which can handle 1 Watt of RF and has an variable capacitor to peak the network to match a 3 Metre Antenna as specified under Part 15 rules.To make setting up the transmitter as simple as possible, we have added a "marker" tone generator and RF and Modulation level monitoring.>

The Metzo has a totally new Audio Compressor/Limiter based on the SSM2166 chip from Analog Devices. The Compressor maintain a distortion-free 100% modulation from audio sources having wide dynamic range.  The three front-panel controls allow you to set input gain, modulation level (limiter threshold) and compression ratio.  The compression ratio is adjustable from 1:1 to 5:1. Audio levels that exceed the set modulation level (limiter threshold) are limited by compressing at a fixed 15:1 ratio.>

The Metzo has a totally new power supply design that eliminates low frequency hum, by incorporating two voltage regulators "on-board", one for the Audio circuits and one for the RF circuits, and a new grounding technique that splits the RF and Audio grounds, as well as providing and external grounding point. In addition a new external "universal" switch mode power supply provides regulated DC power to the transmitter.>
